The big storm last night wasn’t as big as was expected. Thank god. I was really concerned about the old tree in the front yard, which we’ve already had to take down part of. Luckily there doesn’t seem to have been any damage anywhere. The garden bed/greenhouse cover is still in tact and the house is still in South Carolina.
That’s not to say we didn’t get some big winds though. It sounded like an old horror movie where the wind was howling through the trees. I kept expecting to see a mysterious stranger in a trench coat and pork pie hat arrive at the door step and ask if he could use the phone. Because in my imagination, mysterious strangers don’t have cell phones.
Needless to say, other than bringing in some colder temperatures, everything has turned out just fine. Now we can get back to the business of cooking and cleaning and educating around here. I’m hoping to get a really good recipe put up for everyone here soon. Also, I’m hoping to get over to the store this weekend and get the parts to finish fixing my El Camino.
That’s right, I have an El Camino in the driveway. Be very jealous of me.
